Yesterday after the marathon there was a dance party on Lafayette right by my apartment. I could hear them doing the Electric Slide and for a second thought about running out and joining them but laziness won out in the end. Fortunately my friend Kristin was there!
This is maybe my favorite thing in a long time.
Just try to watch this and not love NYC.

Eric got me hooked on this one! It’s just too perfect for running, right?
I am going to run every day this week. I think I’ll stay around 4-6 then do 10 on Saturday. Megan and Nicole don’t walk at all when they run. Meanwhile, I’ve been stopping to walk up every hill that gets in my way- even the little ones. How embarrassing.
Turns out lots of famous people have run marathons! This quiz tells you who is speedy and who is a slow-poke. I just love that about the marathon- when it comes down to it, everyone is equal during that 26.2 and whether you’re Diddy or George Bush all the money and power in the world won’t make you faster or injury free. Yeah, you can get trained and all of that prior to the race, sure, but it’s still rough getting through 4 hours of running. I mean, unless you’re Lance Armstrong. He doesn’t count because he is a celebrity AND superhuman.

A Message to Pretty- Love
It’s true.
My inspiration! This is one of the best Bugs Bunnies by far!
Starting Over? Really?
Oh man. So, I pretty much haven’t been running at ALL this month. Like, not once. Between work and travel and parties and Christmas and more work it’s just been too hectic to even think about running! I’ve just been knitting up a storm and counting on catching up with running after the holidays.
Well…
What a big mistake! I went on a little three miler yesterday and it felt like I’d never run before in my life! Three lousy miles! I wouldn’t even DO three miles last spring/summer/fall because I thought a distance that short didn’t even COUNT! Now I’m huffing and puffing and feeling like a first timer! I had planned on running the Kaiser half marathon in February, but I don’t even know if I can do it! Seriously- how could I lose all that fitness in just a month! I’d slowed way down in November too, but still did a 6 miler on Thanksgiving and it wasn’t a big deal. Mortifying.
So I guess I’ll just keep pushing myself every day to run and hope that I bounce back fairly quickly. I’ll keep updating my Tumblr to keep me honest and track my runs. Wish me luck…
