Celebrity Marathoner Quiz →
Turns out lots of famous people have run marathons! This quiz tells you who is speedy and who is a slow-poke. I just love that about the marathon- when it comes down to it, everyone is equal during that 26.2 and whether you’re Diddy or George Bush all the money and power in the world won’t make you faster or injury free. Yeah, you can get trained and all of that prior to the race,...

Starting Over? Really?
Oh man. So, I pretty much haven’t been running at ALL this month. Like, not once. Between work and travel and parties and Christmas and more work it’s just been too hectic to even think about running! I’ve just been knitting up a storm and counting on catching up with running after the holidays.
Well…
What a big mistake! I went on a little three miler yesterday and...

Back in the saddle
Alright party people- it’s go time. No messing around. I am running hard and fast and strong in November.
Here are my November running resolutions:
1. I will run in the morning before work. No more of this running at night business!
2. I will run all the hills. I usually do, but that’s just usually. I gotta take them all down.
3. I will run faster. My average pace will be...
So I took a break...
Ugh. Okay. I haven’t been writing a thing about the running and I know I should but JEEZ. Here’s the deal. I really really really wanted to do well in the marathon. Like, PR+ style. And I thought I could do it- I did I did! But I didn’t. I got so slow, you guys. So slow. And I just don’t know why. I say this all the time, but I mean it for reals- I gotta get...

Today's Run: 4 Miles
I ran 4 miles a today. Pretty standard stuff. I’m getting antsy about the race and worried already about being too heavy and slow and not pushing myself enough. I think downloading Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation will help a bunch as will the support of my pals buddies and friend on race day. Every time I listen to a song off of Rhythm Nation I’m surprised how I remember EVERY...

Today's Run 5.5 Miles
I usually don’t count half miles but I also usually don’t run 5 so there’s a first time for everything. It was along the Embarcadero after work and I’d had WAY too much pizza all afternoon. I did not feel very good at all. I really need to stop it with the eating too much before my runs. It slows me way down and just feels sad. I need to really work on that before the...
Today's Run: Yoga and Yogurt
A Vinyasa class at International Orange followed by treat at Fraiche? Sounds like a plan. An expensive plan, but a good plan. I just love that froyo fromFraiche! They offer two kinds of honey! TWO KINDS! And they put pureed fruit on top that’s like baby food but sweeter! I ate 2 yogurts yesterday- one with friends and one in secret by myself. The second one was even better than the...
Today's Run: 23 Miles
23 miles, y’all, and my toes/knees/feet are feeling fine! I ran in Danville with the Nike run club and it was HOT! We started in the park then went through Round Hill Country Club, through Alamo, and all of a sudden were at Rudgear pool in Walnut Creek! I couldn’t believe it! All these places I’d ride my bike to as a kid when my friends lived around there had stayed exactly...
Runs this week: 6,6,4,4,4... 23!
I haven’t written a thing about my runs this week, but here’s the skinny. Didn’t run in the morning like I shoulda, ran at a pretty decent but not exceptional pace, and I’m going to finish they week by running my PEAK before the race- a big 23 miler on Sunday! I am quite terrified. The bummer is, I usually run on Saturdays with the SF run club and this week I can’t...
Today's Run: 4 Miles
You know, I need to stop this sleeping in stuff. I’ve been missing my morning runs and going out late at night and- dang it- my night runs are slower and lamer for so many reasons.
1. I have the opportunity to think about them all day and potentially skip them (but don’t worry, Team Supreme, I don’t skip!)
2. I miss out on that satisfaction of knowing I did a thing I planned...
Today's Run: 4 Miles
Slept in, went after work, completely unremarkable run. I guess it is good to note that I wasn’t sore in any unexpected ways after my 21 miles. That’s a good thing. Other than that, same old same old which is totally awesome.

Today's Run: 21 Miles
There was thunder, there was rain, I forgot my Nike punch card at home (!) but overall, not a bad 21. I didn’t feel as terrible as I thought I SHOULD when I was done, so I hope I pushed myself hard enough. I started out with a slower than normal pace group. Maybe that had something to do with it.
Today's Run: Getting Nervous...
Big run in the morning! I think we’re up to 21 or 22 miles. Gulp. I’m trying to step up my nutrition big time and will be eating a nice, well-rounded dinner this evening. My lunch consisted of almonds, raisins, and 4 mini twixes. Okay, 5 mini twixes. I need to get on track or I’ll be toast tomorrow! Also drinking buckets of water since it’s probably gonna be hot out...
Today's Run: 4 Miles
Some fancy-shmancy Hollywood movie trucks got in my way today and I had to make a left up Washington instead of continuing on down to Jackson. Humph. I suppose I shouldn’t be so stuck in my ways but LORDY! Those hills! I like my regular route much better. I ran back past the movie trucks with their trailers and lights and cops all over the place. And you KNOW I ran extra pretty just in...
